Recruitment FAQs

Thank you for your interest in the UKPRP consortium Violence, Health and Society.  Professor Walby is unable to grant requests for individual discussions about the posts.  If you have specific questions about the roles that are not answered here, please forward to the violenceandsociety@city.ac.uk and we will do our best to answer you promptly.

Disciplinary background: We are building a team with skills likely to be found in Sociology, Criminology, Health Sciences, Health Economics, but we are open to other disciplines in the social, data and health sciences.  We are seeking a mix of researchers with complementary quantitative skills and are not so concerned with the specific disciplinary area.

Quantitative skills: The job is to analyse quantitative data.  Additional skills might compensate for current lower levels of quantitative skills, if there is a willingness to learn.

Remote/on-site working: The jobs are based in the newly refurbished Violence and Society Centre at City.  We have been working virtually but are planning for a return to on-site work when it is safe to do so. We follow guidance and take a flexible approach that may include some remote working.
